We specialize in listing, selling and finding land for clients. Our knowledge and professional licenses permit us to provide rural real estate brokerage services that give us an edge when advising clients on complex land and timber issues that may be presented by a property.
Rural Real Estate Advisory Service
Ed Travis started in the real estate appraisal business in 1971 . He achieved the highest designations in the appraisal field. He was appointed in 1993 to a four year term on Alabama’s first Real estate Appraiser Board. .
He specialized in diverse rural appraisal assignments where he was fortunate to meet and work with people all over the southeast. He travelled from Virginia to Texas valuing large timberland holdings and spent a lot of time appraising complex forest related estate assignments and testified as an expert witness in quite a few jurisdictions.
His education and experience as an appraiser gave him a unique understanding of economic, environmental, legal and feasibility issues that are invaluable to him as a land broker and consulting Forester.
Property Acquisitions, Dispositions, Due Diligence Preparation
We advise clients on how to best market their property by examining their timber resources, the economic factors as well as the environmental and wildlife considerations. We provide information that will be used by the clients legal and accounting experts on access, easements, tax implications and forest related programs that clients may want to participate in. Helping clients, sellers and buyers “See the forest beyond the trees” illustrates the dynamics of the market and how the property is influenced by many internal and external influences that impact sound business decisions.
Continuing Education
We teach formal classes in classrooms and in the forest for the NRCS, County Forest Planning Committees and professional Forestry, real estate and rural appraisal groups
